1967年に米国ニューポート・ジャズフェスティバルに出演した原信夫は「演奏者と大観衆とが一体
となって繰り広げられるフェスティバルの雰囲気は忘れることができない。何とかして日本人の手
で日本のジャズメンとファンが一同に会したジャズの祭典ができないものか。これが永い間の私の
夢であった」その夢を実現させたコンサートが全日本ジャズフェスティバルだった。

1968年から1972年まで行なわれ原信夫音楽事務所が全精力を傾けて企画・制作・主催し、（1972年は
あいミュージックが主催）スイング・ジャーナル誌読者人気投票のポールウイナーズが総出演した画
期的なジャズコンサートだった。

その68年のライブをレコード化したLP 全日本ジャズフェスティバル'68 の購入特典としてのみ制作、配布されたレアなEP盤が当盤である。
